Something we definitely are is alternative! We provide alternative and risqué entertainment at our wedding fairs, making them unique in every way.
Performers at our previous Spectaculars were:
Ruby Deshabillé – Ruby can whip her audiences into a frenzy or send them into a trance and always, always leaves them wanting more. Before she even knew what Burlesque was, Ruby had a fascination with all things theatrical and fabulous, feathered and glittered, exotic and sensual. Inspired by the classic splendour of early 20th century film stars such as Rita Hayworth and Gene Tierney, Ruby’s performances lure you into another world altogether.
Cupid’s Blind Date is a comedic burlesque striptease involving audience participation. Like everyone, Ruby just wants someone to love….
Pyromaniacs Fire Arts – Although there will be zero naked flames, the crew from Pyromaniacs will be delighting you with tasters from their very alternative entertainment acts.
Dawn Gracie – will be your co-host as our ‘Ring Mistress of Ceremonies’. Mouthpiece for the masses, junk shop junkie and sassy sauce pot, Dawn Gracie is at her best when required to herd humans as if they were cattle… some say a control freak, she prefers ‘Mistress of making stuff happen!’
A vintage singer and entertainer with her sling backs firmly planted in the 50′s & 60′s, Dawn also goes by the name of Starlet Daze when dolled up to the nines teaching bombshell burlesque across Sussex and has had many a lipstick stained glove tossed in her direction!
Paul Roberts – Paul is an accomplished, entertaining and vastly experienced singer, actor and musician who has performed at theatres, cabaret, stadiums and arenas, on video, film, radio and television all over the world. As singer for 16 years with the British band ‘the Stranglers’ he has had chart hits in both Britain and Europe and appears on at least 30 albums and as many singles.
He has worked with countless top European producers and musicians including BAFTA winner Martin Phipps and Nigel Kennedy. In the last few years Paul has become a star of swing music from his work in the UK California and Europe. Two years ago he starred in the sell-out show ‘The Great American Songbook’ at the New End theatre London to outstanding reviews across the board and was personally congratulated on his performance by the great Michael Feinstein.
Here’s who starred at our inaugural Quaint Queer Weird Wedding Spectacular in September 2013:
Joe Black – Gin drinking cabaret darling, musical comedy misfit and acid tongued ringmaster. Living somewhere between the stages of music, theatre and comedy, Joe Black takes an audience firmly by the hand and guides them into a place where the strange and unusual reign supreme. No stranger to the absurd, Joe Black creates a world where the shocking is the sublime and the ridiculous is the beautiful.
Bruise Violet – The Emerald Inferno! “Storming the London Burlesque scene, Miss Bruise Violet is a sultry burlesque siren with a rockier edge. With polished routines and inviting expressions she’ll leave you feeling both enticed and uneasy!” – Miss Bubbles of Elysian Nights.
Your hostess was our ‘Ring Mistress of Ceremonies’ Dawn Gracie – Mouthpiece for the masses, junk shop junkie and sassy sauce pot, Dawn Gracie is at her best when required to herd humans as if they were cattle… some say a control freak, she prefers ‘Mistress of making stuff happen!’ A vintage singer and entertainer with her sling backs firmly planted in the 50’s & 60’s, Dawn also goes by the name of Starlet Daze when dolled up to the nines teaching bombshell burlesque across Sussex and has had many a lipstick stained glove tossed in her direction!
